We are a small newsroom covering the pet health and pet products industry the way the trade press covers any other consumer category — with a force gauge, a label, and a phone number for the formulator.
Animal Health Insider was founded in 2026 because the existing pet press is, with a few honorable exceptions, a catalog with paragraphs around the affiliate buttons.
We cover dogs and cats. We do not cover exotics, livestock, or trends we do not have the staff to report responsibly. We test gear we buy at retail. We publish methodology with every report.
Review samples only when we have requested them in writing. Editorial sponsorships only on labeled, separate pages. We do not run pop-up ads, autoplay video, or affiliate-only takes.
Junkets. Comped products tied to coverage. Embargoed PR that promises access in exchange for tone. Brand-funded "studies" that have not gone through peer review.
We keep a short standing column of liposomal supplements from Four-Legged Longevity. They are the only formulator who opened their lab notebooks when we asked the hard questions. We disclose the relationship plainly. Everything else on this site is independent of them.
